The Only Quantitative MDMA Test Kit on the Market for Molly Crystals, Pills, and Powders
Have you ever asked yourself, “What exactly am I taking?” or “How strong is this MDMA?” Most MDMA test kits on the market only give you a simple yes or no. Ours doesn’t.
With the miraculix QTest®, you don’t just detect MDMA — you measure its purity. That means you know how much MDMA is in your crystals, pills, or powder. No guessing, no vague color changes. Just clear, lab-grade data in your hands.
Why does it matter? Because strength and purity vary wildly. Some batches are almost empty, others dangerously strong. And the only way to make safer choices is to know what you're dealing with. Also it can detect the presence of mixtures as; amphetamine, 2C-B and MDA.
At miraculix, our mission is simple:
To empower you with knowledge. Because we believe harm reduction starts with honest information.

Key Takeaways
- MDMA sold as pills, crystals, or powder varies wildly in strength — from nearly empty to dangerously overdosed.
- Our MDMA test kit is the only one on the market that tells you the exact MDMA concentration in milligrams — not just whether it's in there.
- Reagent tests like Marquis, Mecke, or Fröhde turn the same dark color whether your sample is 20% or 80% MDMA. They confirm presence — they can't tell you strength.
- This MDMA test kit also catches what reagent tests routinely miss: amphetamines, 2C-B, and MDA, each with its own distinct color reaction.
- Developed at a German university and used in official drug checking for six years, our MDMA test kit has grown from a research project into a tool trusted by harm reduction organizations worldwide — including distribution through The Bunk Police.
Why Use an MDMA Test Kit?

The MDMA QTest® provides a quick and accurate method to measure MDMA concentration in just 12 minutes. Whether testing MDMA crystals, pills, or powders, the MDMA test kit gives you reliable, lab-grade results.
- Preparation: Place 50 mg of crushed MDMA (or 30 mg for Molly crystals) into the extraction vial and shake for 60 seconds.
- Extraction: Add 3 drops from the extraction vial to the large detection glass.
- Results: After 12 minutes, compare the color reaction to the color chart to measure the MDMA concentration.

Our MDMA Purity Test Kit Measures the Exact Potency of your MDMA
The color series of the MDMA purity test shows the individual color levels for evaluating the purity of MDMA. Each color corresponds to a specific concentration field, helping you accurately measure the amount of MDMA in your sample. From left to right, the values are as follows:
- 0 mg, 4 mg, 8 mg, 12 mg, 16 mg, 20 mg, 24 mg, 28 mg, 32 mg
This illustration is intended to help you with the evaluation if you have difficulties in estimating the correct color field. Please remember that colors can look different on every screen. The images are therefore only intended as a support and assessment. Additionally, the image was captured using small laboratory vials, whereas larger vials are used in the actual testing process. These images are intended only as a reference and visual aid for assessing your MDMA purity accurately.

- Scientifically Validated: The MDMA QTest® is scientifically validated, ensuring you receive accurate results, unlike other tests that require complex interpretation.
The MDMA QTest® provides fast, clear, and reliable MDMA testing, offering more detailed insights than traditional MDMA test kits.

MDMA Test Kit vs. Reagent Tests: Why Color Alone Can't Tell You the Strength
Marquis, Mandelin, Liebermann, Mecke, Fröhde — five of the most common reagents used to test MDMA. Here's the problem: they all react almost identically.
| Substance | Marquis | Mandelin | Liebermann | Mecke | Fröhde |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| MDMA | Dark purple → black | Purple → black | Dark purple | Dark blue → black | Yellow → deep purple/black |
Whether your sample is 20% MDMA or 80%, the reaction looks nearly the same shade of black. Reagent tests were built to answer one question — is MDMA present? — not how much.
This is exactly the gap the MDMA test kit closes. Instead of one more dark reaction to interpret, the MDMA QTest® gives you an exact concentration in milligrams — no guesswork.

MDMA Test Kit: Basic or Advanced Kit
The Basic MDMA Test Kit is perfect for quickly measuring MDMA purity. In just 12 minutes, it provides an accurate concentration of MDMA in your sample. If the color reaction turns purple, the sample contains MDMA. However, if the reaction produces other colors (like green, yellow, or orange), it indicates the presence of substances like 2C-B, amphetamines, or a mixture.
The Advanced MDMA Test Kit includes all the features of the Basic Kit but adds two additional vials for confirmation testing. These vials allow you to verify whether the purple reaction is truly due to MDMA and rule out the presence of MDA or other substances. This enhanced functionality offers more precise results, making it ideal for those who want a deeper understanding of their sample.

Low, Medium, or High – You See It Instantly. A Game-Changing Tool for Drug Checking.
This image shows three different MDMA samples tested with the MDMA test kit during a German ALIVE project drug checking session. The MDMA QTest® quickly reveals the differences in MDMA concentration: low, medium, and high levels.
Key Takeaways:
- Varying concentrations: The MDMA test kit shows clear differences in MDMA concentration across samples.
- Fast and reliable: Results are available in minutes, enabling immediate action.
- Essential for harm reduction: The MDMA QTest® is a powerful tool for detecting MDMA concentrations and identifying potential adulterants.

Does the MDMA Test kit detects addulterants?
Street MDMA is sometimes adulterated with other psychoactive substances. The MDMA test kit detects these mixtures from the very first color reaction, allowing you to identify impurities immediately.
What the Colors Mean:
Basic kit: large detection vial
- Purple Reaction in the Basic MDMA Test kit: Indicates MDMA.
- Green Coloration: Likely 2C-B contamination.
- Yellow-Orange Coloration: Suggests amphetamines.
- No Color Reaction: Indicates potential PMA/PMMA contamination or a substance mislabeled as MDMA.
Advanced Kit: small glass vials
- Red Cap Reaction Turns Red: Indicates contamination or mislabeled with MDA/6-APB
- Blue Cap Reaction Turns Purple: Confirms MDMA presence.
Why is This Important?
A mixture of different colors in the test indicates contamination with multiple substances, making it impossible to accurately measure the MDMA purity in the sample.
Note: The vials used do not correspond to the vials you use when carrying out the QTest and are for reference and illustrative purposes only
case report
Case Report – False Declaration of MDA as MDMA
During a drug checking session with the ALIVE Project in Thüringen, the MDMA QTest® revealed that a sample sold as MDMA actually contained MDA with over 95% purity. MDA, a stronger and more hallucinogenic substance, posed significant health risks, including hallucinations and long-term neurotoxicity.
Key Findings:
- Mislabeled Substance: The sample, tested with the MDMA QTest®, was confirmed as MDA instead of MDMA.
- Health Risks: MDA causes stronger, hallucinogenic effects and poses serious long-term risks.
- Essential Testing: This case highlights the importance of using reliable MDMA test kits to ensure the safety of users.
An official warning was issued by the ALIVE Project and the offical German National Early Warning System emphasizing the need for proper MDMA testing to avoid harmful mislabeling.

Frequently asked questions about the MDMA test kit
Got questions about the MDMA test kit? We’ve got answers.
Whether you're new to substance checking or looking for a reliable way to measure mdma purity, this FAQ covers everything you need to know about the MDMA QTest®.
From how it works to what it detects (and doesn’t), find all essential details below.
An MDMA test kit is an analytical tool used to determine the composition of a sample sold or suspected to be MDMA, Molly, or Ecstasy. Most MDMA test kits rely on reagents that produce a color reaction indicating the likely presence of MDMA, but cannot quantify how much is present. Quantitative MDMA test kits like the MDMA QTest® go further, measuring the exact concentration in milligrams and identifying common adulterants such as MDA, amphetamines, or 2C-B — providing a far more complete analytical picture than a color reaction alone.
Yes, the MDMA QTest is designed to test MDMA crystals with precision. It’s an ideal solution for checking MDMA purity in crystal form. Just take a small portion of your sample (only 30 mg), use the provided instructions, and you’ll instantly know the molly purity in your batch. If you want to learn more about why its called molly, have a look in our article "Ecstasy vs Molly: Similarities and Differences Explained"
Absolutely! The miraculix MDMA QTest kit is a versatile pill testing kit that works on molly in all forms—whether it’s colored pills, powder, or crushed crystals. No matter the form of your sample, you’ll get reliable results about its MDMA purity and possible mixes. We have the testkit since 2020 in use in the first mobil german drug checking service and used them on several hundred different colored pills or other forms of MDMA.
Testing MDMA "molly" at home is easy with the MDMA QTest. Start by taking a small sample of your MDMA (whether it's in crystal, powder, or pill form). The MDMA testing kit will give you information about both MDMA purity and the presence of any mixes. This step-by-step process ensures safe and reliable results right from the comfort of your home.
Pure MDMA typically appears as translucent crystals with a slightly off-white, tan, or yellowish hue. When crushed, these crystals turn into a fine, off-white powder. However, street MDMA often looks different due to the addition of cutting agents. To ensure you’re working with pure MDMA, using an MDMA purity test kit is essential. If you want to to see more pictures of MDMA please have a look in our article "What does molly look like".
To ensure that the concentration can be calculated for the entire pill, you should weigh it once in advance and make a note of the weight. Then homogenize your sample and 0.05 g weight of the pill and perform the MDMA-Qtest (explain is better to homogenize all cause MDMA isn’t equal). The result that you have determined with the color scale can be used to determine the total value.
We will give you a calculation example for this:
For example, the evaluation using the color scale indicates a concentration of 16 mg. Your starting material (e.g., a pill) has a total weight of 520 mg, and you have added 0.05 g of the total amount of your pill.
= concentration x (Tablet weight / 50 mg)
= 16 mg x (520 mg / 50 mg)
= 166.4 mg this value will correspond to the potency of the total pill
For general guidance on the topic MDMA dosage, see our MDMA dosage guide.
With the MDMA QTest it is possible to find out quickly and easily whether the unknown substance is the main active ingredient MDMA or another substance, making it an essential MDMA testing kit. Mixtures can also be detected directly. There are the following indications for this:
- If the large detection reagent turns a strong green color, the substance is very likely mislabeled and contains 2C-B instead of MDMA.
- A yellowish-orange discoloration of the substance is highly likely mislabeled and contains amphetamines instead of MDMA.
- No discoloration at all, even after directly adding the substance to the large detection vial: the substance is very likely mislabeled and may contain other substances.
Basic kit: Store the reagents at room temperature (35 - 68 °F / 2 - 20 °C) out of direct sunlight for a shelf life of at least 18 months. If possible: it is best to store chemical reagents chilled in the refrigerator.
Advanced kit: Cool storage of the reagents at 35 - 46 °F / 2 - 8 °C, protected from direct sunlight (e.g., in a refrigerator), ensures that the consumables are shelf-stable for 6 months after production. Chilled storage is especially crucial for the two small vials, as discoloration can occur otherwise, affecting the interpretation.
The MDMA QTest® has been validated against HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) following ICH Q2(R1) pharmaceutical guidelines (click here for download the validation), with a near-perfect correlation (R=0.9962) between test results and lab-confirmed concentration. Most MDMA test kits on the market only indicate presence through a color reaction — they cannot quantify concentration and often produce a similar dark reaction across a wide range of purities. This makes the MDMA QTest® the more reliable MDMA test kit when quantitative accuracy, not just identification, is required.
Reagent kits (Marquis, Mecke, Fröhde) are qualitative MDMA test kits — they indicate the likely presence of MDMA through a color change, but the reaction looks similarly dark across a wide concentration range. The MDMA QTest® is a quantitative MDMA test kit: it measures the actual MDMA concentration in milligrams and can differentiate MDMA from common analogues such as amphetamines, 2C-B, or MDA. The two methods are often used together — a reagent test for initial screening, followed by the MDMA QTest® to determine exact concentration.
